Position Descriptions


1. Quality Control Specialist / Electronics Inspector

Job Summary: Ballard Technology is searching for an experienced Quality Control Specialist / Electronics Inspector to play a key role for Production. Candidates must have experience in the electronics industry and work well in a team environment. Ballard's production is high mix and low volume so workers must be detail oriented and comfortable multitasking and working under pressure from numerous priorities. Ballard is AS9100/ISO9001 certified, and workers must perform according to strict quality and safety standards. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Incoming PCB Inspection
  • Incoming /In-Process PCBA Inspection
  • Incoming Mechanical Inspection
  • In-Process Quality Control
  • Completion of paperwork/records
  • Other tasks as assigned

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Electronics industry experience as an inspector
  • Electronic inspection standards (IPC 600 & IPC 610) experience
  • Quality Systems (AS9100/ISO9001) experience
  • Strong attention to detail necessary
  • Ability to work using a microscope for long periods of time
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English
  • Able to work from formal documentation/verbal instructions
  • Physically able to lift light boxes

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma -- further education such as technical school, associate degree or equivalent in electronics, manufacturing or related area is desirable.
  • IPC Certification preferred
  • 7 years electronics industry experience, preferably in aerospace technology

Additional Requirements:

  • Candidates undergo a background check prior to starting work.

 


2. Engineering Consultants

Ballard Technology is seeking engineering consultants for new product development. Either part time/temporary employment or an independent contract relationship will be considered.

Consulting opportunities:

  • Aerospace systems requirements
  • Aerospace mechanical packaging
  • Aerospace validation testing (MIL-STD-810, DO-160)
  • Design verification (DO-178, DO-254)
  • Printed Circuit Board layout

General requirements:

  • Professional experience in area of consulting
  • Experience developing aerospace products
  • Experience with aerospace requirements, products, and practices
  • Experience with avionics databuses is desirable
