AFDX / ARINC 664 Products
| Ballard Technology's newest family of avionics databus interfaces is for the AFDX/ARINC 664 databus. These PCI, cPCI, and PMC products transmit, receive, monitor, and capture a wide variety of network characteristics, support error injection, and provide a statistical record of errors and performance. |
A powerful dedicated on-board processor (PowerPC®) handles the AFDX protocol, freeing the host processor for user applications. Firmware loaded on the on-board processor handles integrity checking, redundancy management, and flow control (scheduling). |
Ballard's powerful and intuitive CoPilot® software has been expanded to interface with this new family of AFDX hardware. Like earlier versions of CoPilot, this new release simplifies the creation and translation of AFDX data through the use of engineering units, virtual instruments, and a suite of intelligent utilities. Similarly, the user's application can be easily customized through scripting. Since CoPilot provides a common interface to MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, and ARINC 708, AFDX users are able to combine one or more of these protocols (e.g., AFDX and ARINC 429) into a fully integrated CoPilot project. |
