AFDX / ARINC 664 Products
| Ballard Technology's newest family of avionics databus interfaces is for the AFDX/ARINC 664 databus. These PCI, cPCI, and PMC products transmit, receive, monitor, and capture a wide variety of network characteristics, support error injection, and provide a statistical record of errors and performance. |
 |
A powerful dedicated on-board processor (PowerPC®) handles the AFDX protocol, freeing the host processor for user applications. Firmware loaded on the on-board processor handles integrity checking, redundancy management, and flow control (scheduling). |
 |
Ballard's powerful and intuitive CoPilot® software has been expanded to interface with this new family of AFDX hardware. Like earlier versions of CoPilot, this new release simplifies the creation and translation of AFDX data through the use of engineering units, virtual instruments, and a suite of intelligent utilities. Similarly, the user's application can be easily customized through scripting. Since CoPilot provides a common interface to MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, and ARINC 708, AFDX users are able to combine one or more of these protocols (e.g., AFDX and ARINC 429) into a fully integrated CoPilot project. |

PCMCIA Type II for ARINC 429
| A Type II version of the venerable CM429-1 card. This new card will allow existing CM429-1 applications to run on newer laptop computers that do not support Type III PCMCIA cards. Contact Ballard for price and availability. | |

CoPilot Version 4.70
 | Ballard Technology released CoPilot version 4.70 in January 2007. This new versions of the software includes AFDX functionality, MIL-STD-1553 hardware playback, general performance enhancements, and minor bug fixes. Please contact Ballard Technology for upgrade details. |

OmniBus Products
| The high-performance OmniBus family is Ballard's latest generation of avionics interfaces. Each OmniBus product is built around a powerful, intelligent board that hosts multiple DSPs, a PowerPC processor, IRIG circuits (for time-tags and synchronization), and multiple digital I/O lines. Avionics protocols are supported through a wide variety of high channel-count MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, ARINC 708, ARINC 717, CSDB, serial (RS-422, RS-232, and RS-423), and discrete IO modules. The powerful OmniBus architecture and flexible protocol modules are combined to provide industry-leading performance and unequaled value. Ballard is pleased to announce that the existing family of OmniBus PCI/cPCI boards has been expanded to include a full line of VME and Ethernet/USB products. | |
