Ballard Hardware + CoPilot = CoPilot System

Description


The CoPilot System is a complete line of software and hardware interfaces to MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, ARINC 708, ARINC 664 / AFDX and serial avionics databuses. A CoPilot System consists of a hardware component (e.g., Ballard's OmniBusBox) and a software component (e.g., CoPilot 429 Plus). Buying a CoPilot System provides significant savings over purchasing these components separately.

Multiple boards and multiple avionics protocols may be hosted in a single project in the CoPilot software. The automation and auto-detect features in CoPilot provide quick results: users can transmit, receive, or monitor on a databus with just a few clicks of the mouse. CoPilot's extensive use of engineering units and data interpreters frees the user from the calculations necessary to convert the binary data passed on the bus into a recognizable format. CoPilot's intuitive interface and industry-leading features make it the perfect choice for avionics professionals.

CoPilot can be ordered in two versions: Standard and Plus. The additional features of CoPilot Plus include a variety of graphical displays, expanded monitor capabilities, hardware and software playback modes, and customization through scripting.

Software Components


CoPilot 1553

CoPilot 1553 — Simulate the Bus Controller, up to 32 RTs, and monitor, record, and export bus activity. Enter and display data in engineering units and save data definitions to the database. CoPilot 1553 Plus features include virtual instruments, strip charts, moving map displays, hardware and software playback modes, and scripting.

CoPilot 429

CoPilot 429 — Quickly build transmit schedules, and enter and display data in meaningful engineering units. Sequential Monitor captures, records, filters, displays, and exports 429 traffic. Equipment ID and label definitions are built into the CoPilot 429 database. CoPilot 429 Plus features include virtual instruments, hardware and software playback modes, and scripting.

CoPilot 708

CoPilot 708 — Transmit, receive, monitor, and display airborne pulse Doppler weather radar system data. Monitor, record, and retransmit on the 708 display databus. Data may be displayed and modified in engineering units and saved datasets can be reexamined in software playback mode. Combine with a CoPilot 429 System to control a T-R unit.

CoPilot AFDXCoPilot AFDX — CoPilot AFDX is an intuitive, graphical databus analyzer that simplifies the simulation and testing of ARINC 664 / AFDX - based avionics systems. CoPilot AFDX is part of the CoPilot Family-a comprehensive software environment that interfaces to Ballard's ARINC 429, AFDX, ARINC 708/453, and MIL-STD-1553 hardware products.
