Description
The IP429-1 extends ARINC 429 capability to a variety of computer platforms including VMEbus, PCI, ISA (PC), and NuBus(MAC). With four receivers and two transmitters the IP429-1 can interface with up to six ARINC 429 avionics databuses. This small (1.8 x 3.9 inches) single size IndustryPack module can be fully configured and controlled from software running on the host. Channels may be serviced by polling or through interrupts. Each ARINC channel can operate at high speed (100 Kbps) or low speed (12.5 Kbps). An eight word FIFO and independent gap timer simplify transmitter scheduling. External transmitter trigger input and sync and discrete outputs permit interfacing with external events. The power, flexibility, and cost savings from combining different functional modules on a single carrier board has led to the wide acceptance of the IndustryPack standard. Ballard Technology offers an integrated solution for the VMEbus (VME429-1) that includes a 68040-based carrier board, software and one or more IP429-1s. Call for details.
